BANGKOK, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva ordered Thursday Police General Patcharawart Wongsuwan, National Police Chief, to negotiate with core leaders of anti-government protesters to ensure that a mass anti-government rally on Sunday will be peaceful, Thai News Agency reported Thursday.
From Aug. 29 to Sept. 1, the Thai government will impose the Internal Security Act at Dusit district in the center of capital Bangkok to ensure security during the mass anti-government rally planned by the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship.
On Sunday at about 01:00 p.m., local time, the UDD protesters would gather at the Royal Plaza in Dusit district and march to Government House late in the afternoon.
The protesters with no weapon would gather peacefully and after submitting a letter calling for dissolution of the House and a general election, the UDD protesters would peacefully disperse, UDD core leaders said.
